What happens to your uploaded chart and written assessment?

Uploading a chart, saving its image and keeping the written assessment are different actions. Understand the records before choosing what to share and retain.

Your uploaded chart image and its written assessment are separate records. ChartPilot sends the image for analysis, saves the completed written result to your account, and lets you choose whether to keep a private screenshot beside it. Removing a saved image does not remove the written assessment. The privacy policy and service terms explain those different actions.

You can create your free ChartPilot account after deciding what image you are comfortable submitting. Access checked November 3, 2026: new accounts receive 3 completed analyses in total, without expiry. This is a lifetime allowance, not a daily or monthly reset. No card is required, and the free account does not become a subscription or trigger a charge automatically. Existing accounts retain their current access and billing.

Identify the record before asking whether it is saved

The word “chart” can mean several things in the same conversation. Name the particular record you mean:

  • Your original file: the screenshot you created on your own device. Decide separately how to manage that file and any copies you made outside ChartPilot.
  • The processing request: under the chart-image policy, submitted images go to OpenAI for analysis with API response storage disabled. This is not a promise of zero provider retention; security and abuse-monitoring retention may still apply.
  • An optional saved image: choosing Save chart after analysis stores a private screenshot in Supabase Storage, linked to your account and assessment. Uploading does not automatically create that saved account image.
  • The written assessment: the explanation and reference levels are part of your saved history. The current free-account terms preserve access to written results after the three-analysis allowance is used.

A visible result therefore does not answer every storage question. Check which record an action affects before using it as evidence that everything has been saved or deleted.

A fictional example: one screenshot, two different needs

This is an invented planning exercise, not a customer story or a test of private account data. Imagine you want an educational second opinion on a EURUSD chart. Your initial capture includes the candles and price scale, but also an account panel and a desktop notification.

You have two needs: submit enough market information for a useful assessment, and retain enough evidence to understand the explanation later. Neither need requires the account panel or notification. Prepare a clean export that preserves the symbol, timeframe, relevant candles and scale. Open the actual exported file to check it; do not rely on how the chart looked before capture. The screenshot checklist covers that preparation in detail.

Give the clean file a neutral name in your own folder, such as “EURUSD-review-A.” Before uploading, write two separate decisions: “This is the image I intend to submit” and “This is the evidence I want available when I revisit the explanation.” The second decision is about your review needs; it is not permission to include unnecessary personal information in the first.

Suppose you want to compare the result with the exact image next week. Plan how you will identify that image, rather than assuming a newer screenshot is interchangeable. If you instead need only the written reasoning, record that narrower purpose. A useful record states what was retained; it does not describe an absent image as if you could still inspect it.

Now imagine you later decide to remove the saved account image. The saved-image terms say that action leaves the written assessment intact. In your own record, change “image and assessment available” to the actual state you checked. That is a storage decision, not a change to the original market analysis or proof that every processing record has been erased.

Use a short storage decision worksheet

Before your next upload, complete these prompts in a note of your own. This is an editorial worksheet, not a claim that ChartPilot has a separate data-management form.

  1. What is the purpose? Write one concrete task, such as checking how the explanation describes a visible support area. “Keep everything just in case” makes the next decisions harder.
  2. What does the image need? List the market labels and structure required for that task. Separately list unrelated details to remove before export.
  3. Which record do I want later? Name the source image, written assessment, or both. Do not use “my analysis” as a catch-all if the distinction matters.
  4. Which action am I considering? Specify saving an image, removing an account image, managing a local file, or requesting account-data assistance. These have different scopes.
  5. What would confirm the intended result? Identify the particular item to check afterward. If you cannot verify a broader deletion claim, leave it unresolved instead of inferring it from an empty image area.

For the fictional EURUSD example, a completed note might read: “Purpose: review the explanation of the marked support area. Input: clean chart A. Later evidence: that exact image plus the written result. Excluded: account panel and notification. Follow-up: check the two records separately.” No prices, trade outcome or personal financial details are needed for this exercise.

Do not confuse allowance, plan changes and deletion

Using your last free analysis is an allowance event. It is not an instruction to erase your history. Conversely, keeping written results does not grant more analyses. The terms also distinguish prior trial accounts from current free-offer accounts: earlier trial expiry does not automatically delete saved data, but those accounts may need to reactivate access or contact support about access or deletion.

For retention, use the published policy, not a missing button or a closed browser tab. It says saved images remain until deletion or an account-deletion request; changing plans does not automatically remove them. Assessments remain until removed through account deletion or service maintenance. For account access, correction or deletion requests, contact support@chartpilotai.com; ownership verification may be required.

Make a request precise: identify the account and assessment concerned, then state whether you mean the saved image, written record or account. Ask for clarification when the scope is uncertain. Do not resend a sensitive screenshot merely to explain which ordinary record you mean.

Keep the evidence you need for a useful review

ChartPilot is an educational second opinion on the screenshot you submit. Clear input and deliberate record choices make its reasoning easier to revisit; they do not guarantee a correct analysis or a profitable trade. The history and journal guide explains how to review the content of an assessment once you have identified the records available.

Create your free ChartPilot account when your clean chart is ready. Submit the information needed for the question, then make an explicit choice about the image and written evidence you want to keep.
