EURUSD pullback review with a simple structure checklist

A EURUSD-specific review worksheet with fictional prices, pip arithmetic and a separate check for scheduled policy events.

Review a EURUSD pullback by separating the earlier directional move, the current retracement and the evidence that the retracement has ended. Keep the quote source, timeframe and capture time attached to that reading. A rising background does not by itself prove that the newest downward move is complete.

Prepare that evidence first, then review current signup options to compare it with a ChartPilot assessment. Forex screenshots benefit from a little extra care with decimal places and timing: a small-looking price difference can be meaningful to the question you are asking.

Start with a labeled EURUSD record

Write the pair exactly as shown, including the provider or broker label. Add the chart timeframe, chart timezone and capture time. If you know whether the displayed series uses bid, ask or another price basis, record it. If you do not know, mark it unknown instead of assuming the visible value is an executable quote.

Keep the market identity consistent throughout the review. A different provider’s chart may be useful context, but do not silently combine its candle values with the original screenshot. For the same reason, a separate daily market commentary is not a substitute for identifying the chart that generated this particular assessment.

Mark three stages, not one bullish or bearish story

  1. The preceding move: mark the relevant earlier low, high and later low or high that support your directional description.
  2. The retracement: mark where the move against that direction started and how far it has developed.
  3. The unresolved condition: state what evidence you would need before describing the retracement as finished.

Use comparable swings from the same view. Choosing a very small bounce inside a larger decline can make almost any screenshot sound bullish. If the relationship is unclear, write that uncertainty down rather than choosing whichever points support your first impression.

A fictional EURUSD worksheet

Suppose a 15-minute chart shows an earlier low at 1.0810, a rise to 1.0860 and a retracement to 1.0835. The newest candle is trying to recover toward 1.0840 but has not finished. These prices are invented for the worksheet and describe no current market opportunity.

Your initial record could say: “The retracement remains above 1.0810. It has given back 0.0025 from the 1.0860 high. The latest candle is unfinished, so I have not recorded a completed recovery.” This preserves both the supportive structure and the unresolved timing.

For EURUSD, a standard pip is 0.0001. The fictional 0.0025 retracement is therefore 25 pips. A fifth decimal digit is a fraction of a pip, not another whole pip. OANDA’s explanation of pips covers this quotation convention. The arithmetic measures a price distance; it does not calculate an account’s monetary risk.

Now consider three possible later observations. A completed recovery above your preselected reference would add evidence to the continuation reading. Continued movement sideways would leave the timing question open. A move through the earlier structural low would require a fresh interpretation of the sequence. These are review branches, not probabilities or trading instructions.

Write the reference and the completion rule before the next candle develops. Otherwise, it is easy to pick whichever later price makes the original story look correct. For a broader explanation of the labels, see pullback versus reversal.

Check the clock outside the screenshot

EURUSD involves the euro and US dollar, so keep relevant scheduled policy announcements in a separate context note. Use the ECB’s monetary policy decision page and the Federal Reserve’s FOMC calendar to verify official dates and published material. They are primary sources, but they are not a complete calendar of all market-moving events.

Record the source’s timezone and convert the event time to the chart clock before comparing them. Do not assume that a memorized local hour remains correct across seasonal clock changes. This evergreen checklist does not assert that an announcement is happening today.

If your screenshot was captured before an event and you read the assessment afterward, return to the platform. The old image cannot show the intervening move. Nor does a candle near an announcement prove the announcement caused that candle; the screenshot alone cannot establish causation.

Compare the assessment with your worksheet

Upload a clear supported image through the analyzer after signing in. Keep the pair label, timeframe, scale and relevant swings visible. Read the directional explanation beside your three-stage record, then compare any reference prices digit by digit with the chart.

Ask whether the report uses the same structural swing you marked, whether it distinguishes an unfinished candle from a completed one, and whether any target is labeled as a projection. Check the nearby opposing area as well: a continuation description does not remove visible obstacles.

If the report and worksheet disagree, isolate the first disputed observation. “Which low defines this sequence?” is a useful question. “Which answer should I trust?” is too broad until you know whether the disagreement comes from chart identity, candle timing, a misread digit or interpretation.

Save a review that can be checked later

Finish with six short fields: chart identity, capture time, preceding move, retracement, missing confirmation and event-context source. Add the assessment’s reasoning and your unresolved questions. This creates a record of what you knew at the time without rewriting uncertainty after the outcome.

Review current signup options to use ChartPilot for that comparison. The purpose is a clearer review of your EURUSD evidence; screenshot analysis cannot provide live quotes, execute trades or make an unfinished pullback certain.
