Older WAIT results and current ChartPilot confidence

Older WAIT assessments stay unchanged. New readable charts receive a directional outlook with confidence and reference levels, while uncertainty stays explicit.

Access update — October 23, 2026: New accounts no longer have an ongoing free plan. The current offer requires payment-method setup for a 7-day Premium trial, then renews at $59 USD/month unless canceled before the trial ends; applicable taxes are shown at checkout. Existing free accounts keep their daily allowance. Any daily free allowance discussed below applies to those existing accounts. Review the current offer and terms before signing up.

Older ChartPilot AI assessments may show WAIT in saved history. Those original results and their watch conditions stay unchanged; they are not converted into BUY or SELL after the fact. New readable supported charts receive a BUY or SELL directional outlook with reference entry, stop-loss and target levels, plus low, moderate or high confidence.

Confidence describes the strength of the visible chart evidence—not a measured probability of winning. Missing confirmation, mixed structure and limited room remain explicit even when a direction is shown. You can review current signup options to review a supported chart and see these reasons alongside the outlook.

Separate an unclear image from an incomplete setup

These are different problems. An image problem means the tool cannot reliably establish what is on the chart. A setup problem means the image is readable but the directional evidence may be weak or unconfirmed. The new outlook explains those limits rather than treating BUY or SELL as a confirmed entry.

If the symbol is cut off or the axis is blurred, waiting for the market to move will not repair the input. Retake the screenshot with the market, timeframe, relevant candles and price scale visible. If the image is clear but confirmation is missing, changing the crop to hide inconvenient evidence is not a useful fix.

The current ChartPilot workflow asks for a clearer upload when essential chart information cannot be read. For readable supported charts, it shows the direction, confidence and the actual reward-to-risk ratio, even when that ratio is low. A target based on a risk projection is labeled as projected; it is not presented as visible support or resistance. These descriptions do not establish a profitable trading strategy.

Turn uncertainty into three observable conditions

Use the result’s explanation to answer three questions in your own words:

  1. What would need to change? Identify the stated confirmation, such as a completed candle showing that a boundary has held.
  2. What would cancel the idea? Name the opposing evidence that would make the original scenario no longer relevant.
  3. When should I look again? Choose the chart event that answers the question, rather than refreshing because you want a different label.

For a readable setup, ChartPilot’s watch information can help organize those points. If no meaningful level can be read, do not invent one to fill the gap. The next step may be a clearer image or a fresh review after the chart develops.

Keep the wording testable. “Wait until it looks stronger” leaves too much room for hindsight. “Check whether the next completed candle closes above the marked range boundary” describes an observation. Whether that observation is enough for a trade still depends on the rest of the setup and your own rules.

Example: a wick through resistance

Hypothetical example, not a current signal: a chart has several earlier reactions near a resistance area. The newest candle briefly rises above it, then moves back toward the range. You capture the image before the candle finishes.

Resistance is an area where upward price movement has previously encountered selling pressure; it is not an impenetrable ceiling. Fidelity’s explanation of support and resistance describes these concepts and the possibility of their roles changing after a break.

In this example, an intrabar move above the area does not tell you where the candle will close. An older WAIT result, or an unconfirmed new outlook, can therefore point out a gap between your breakout idea and the evidence currently visible. It does not establish that a reversal will happen either.

Your review note might say: “The boundary was crossed during the candle, but the close is unresolved. I will revisit the completed candle and compare the new structure with the original idea.” That records uncertainty without converting it into an unsupported forecast.

Example: direction looks clear, but the first target is close

A chart can lean bullish or bearish without offering enough room between a plausible entry and the nearest obstacle. Direction and setup geometry answer different questions.

Illustrative arithmetic only: suppose a hypothetical long setup uses entry 100, a structural stop at 96 and a first target at 106. The price distance to the stop is 4 and to the target is 6, giving 6 ÷ 4 = 1.5:1 before trading costs. The new outlook shows that ratio honestly rather than moving the stop or target to manufacture a higher number. A direction label does not make limited reward attractive.

Moving the stop to 98 would make the arithmetic appear more attractive, but it would also change the setup. If 98 has no structural justification, you have changed a number to obtain an answer. Similarly, ignoring the nearer obstacle and choosing a distant target does not remove that obstacle.

Even a 2:1 ratio would describe distances, not a probability of winning. Execution prices, spreads, slippage and whether either level is reached are separate matters.

Do older WAIT results change today’s free allowance?

An older WAIT remains a completed historical assessment; opening it does not run a new analysis. The free plan provides one new completed analysis per UTC calendar day. A technical failure does not use the allowance. The reset is 00:00 UTC; it is not based on the time you signed up.

This distinction helps you choose what to upload. Use a clear screenshot at a meaningful review point rather than treating the daily assessment as a button to press until a preferred direction appears.

Use the reasoning, then check it yourself

An older WAIT explanation can be useful, but it is not automatically correct. The same is true of a new BUY or SELL outlook, including one marked high confidence. AI may misread the candle, a level or the timeframe. Compare the stated reason with the original chart. If it cannot be supported by the visible evidence, record the error and do not rely on that assessment.

The tool also cannot see later prices or missing news context in a frozen image. No result guarantees safety or protects against losses. A completed review may reasonably end with no trade and a better understanding of what information is missing.
